Football Recap: Strong Effort on D from Zaiden Pratt and Corben Dallas Leads Pinecrest over Union Pines

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Cleveland, Pinecrest was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They snuck past the Union Pines Vikings with a 21-16 victory. The Patriots haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Chris Najm had a dynamite game, rushing for 79 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Pinecrest didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Zaiden Pratt and Corben Dallas.

Union Pines' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Adrian Colon, who rushed for 111 yards.

The victory got Pinecrest back to even at 1-1. As for Union Pines, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.

Looking ahead, Pinecrest will head out to challenge Davie County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Union Pines, they will welcome Eastern Randolph at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
