Soccer Game Preview: Windward vs. Trabuco Hills

The Windward Wildcats will take on the Trabuco Hills Mustangs at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Windward will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

Windward is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. While the 0-0 score might suggest a draw, it was Windward who was credited with the win. Windward got it done in the shootout by posting five goals to Brentwood School's four. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 73rd, while the Eagles are ranked 219th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Trabuco Hills' defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 3-0 margin over Fountain Valley. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but the Mustangs were the better team in the second half.

They hit Fountain Valley with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Roshni Dang, Morgen Pulham, and Grace Tovar.

Windward's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 16 goals over those four matchups. As for Trabuco Hills, their win bumped their record up to 6-4.
