Basketball Recap: Erika Feathers' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Claysburg-Kimmel over Ferndale

Claysburg-Kimmel lost against Ferndale on December 7th and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Claysburg-Kimmel Bulldogs fell to the Ferndale Yellow Jackets 37-31. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Erika Feathers, who posted six points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexa Francona, who had four points along with 18 boards and three steals.

Even though they lost, Claysburg-Kimmel smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in December of 2023.

Ferndale got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Abby Barley out in front who earned 14 points and four steals. That's the most steals Barley has posted since back in January. The team also got some help courtesy of Lindsey Leverknight, who put up four points along with ten rebounds and four steals.

Claysburg-Kimmel's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Ferndale, they pushed their record up to 6-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Claysburg-Kimmel didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 48-29 win against Shade on the 28th. As for Ferndale, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 48-42 victory against Conemaugh Valley on the 28th.
