Football Recap: New Brighton Picks Up Fourth Straight Win at Home

New Brighton hadn't done well against Mohawk Area recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Lions narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Warriors 38-35. For the Lions, this counts as revenge for the 35-19 win the Warriors walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Mohawk Area lost, don't look at Bobby Fadden. Despite the final result, he rushed for 30 yards and two TDs, and also threw for 118 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Fadden has become a key player for the Warriors: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 0-4 otherwise. Joe Nail got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

New Brighton's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-2. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 28.5 points over those games. As for Mohawk Area, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.
