Football Recap: Edina Falls Short Against Ranked Maple Grove

Edina faced Maple Grove in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Hornets came up short against the Crimson, falling 33-7. The Hornets were not able to make up for their defeat to the Crimson from their previous meeting back in November of 2024.

This is the second loss in a row for Edina and nudges their season record down to 2-2. As for Maple Grove, their victory bumped their record up to 4-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Edina will venture away from home to face off against St. Michael-Albertville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Hornets will be up against the Knights' rather soft defense (which has allowed 28 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Maple Grove, they will face off against Moorhead at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
