Basketball Game Recap: Central Spartans vs. Vincent Memorial Scots

The Central Spartans gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged Vincent Memorial out 40-37. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Central also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2022.

Central got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Julianna Estrada out in front who scored 7 points along with 5 assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Janelle Thomas, who scored 10 points along with 8 rebounds.

Central's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Vincent Memorial, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.

Central will square off against Yuma at 4:35 p.m. on Thursday. As for Vincent Memorial, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Palo Verde Valley at 5:30 p.m.
