Softball Recap: Waterloo West Comes Up Short

If Waterloo West was feeling good fresh off their 10-0 takedown of Iowa City West on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wahawks lost 8-2 to the Hempstead Mustangs on Monday. The Wahawks haven't had much luck with the Mustangs recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Waterloo West's loss dropped their record down to 14-23. As for Hempstead, their win ended a seven-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 7-9.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Waterloo West beat the Mustangs by a score of 13-0 later that day.
