Flinthills is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They put the hurt on Cedar Vale/Dexter with a sharp 48-28 victory. The game was the first time the Mustangs have beaten the Spartans on their field since September 3, 2021.

Meanwhile, Sylvan-Lucas faced Central Plains in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Mustangs walked away with a 34-22 win over the Oilers. Those 34 points were actually the fewest the Mustangs have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Sylvan-Lucas' victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 12.4 points on average over those games. As for Flinthills, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
