Soccer Game Preview: Jones County vs. Locust Grove

Jones County hasn't had much luck against Locust Grove recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Jones County Greyhounds will welcome the Locust Grove Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Jones County is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Thursday. They came up short against Stockbridge, falling 11-1. The Greyhounds were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 4-0.

Meanwhile, Locust Grove's game on Thursday was all tied up 1-1 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell just short of Ola by a score of 2-1. That's two games in a row now that the Wildcats have lost by just one goal.

Jones County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Locust Grove, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

Jones County couldn't quite get it done against Locust Grove in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 as they fell 2-0. Can Jones County avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
