Recap: West Vikings vs. Yucca Valley Trojans
The West Vikings suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Saturday. They were dealt a 66-18 defeat at the hands of Yucca Valley. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points West has scored all season.
West lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Caleigh Adams, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds. That was a full 77.8% of West's points, marking the eighth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Nala Roberts Wright, who scored a point along with 12 rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for West and nudges their season record down to 11-8. As for Yucca Valley, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 20-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West will take on East Bakersfield at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Yucca Valley, they will be playing at home against Banning at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Banning will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 1050th, while Yucca Valley is ranked 243rd).
