Basketball Game Preview: Washington Union Panthers vs. Fresno Warriors

The Washington Union Panthers will square off against the Fresno Warriors at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Washington Union and three for Fresno.

On Friday, Washington Union came up short against Kingsburg and fell 37-27.

Kailey Silva was Washington Union's leading scorer, having posted eight points. Kaleia Brown held things down on the boards with 11 rebounds.

Meanwhile, Fresno lost to Roosevelt on the road by a 56-41 margin on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 644th, while the Rough Riders are ranked 205th).

Washington Union's defeat dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Fresno, their loss dropped their record down to 9-15.

Washington Union lost to Fresno on the road by a decisive 52-33 margin in their previous matchup back in November of 2024. Can Washington Union avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
