Football Game Preview: Purchase Line Red Dragons vs. Marion Center Stingers

The Purchase Line Red Dragons will venture away from home to take on the Marion Center Stingers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Purchase Line's offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against River Valley on Friday. They were dealt a 35-0 loss at the hands of the Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Red Dragons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 334th, while the Panthers are ranked 94th).

Meanwhile, Marion Center put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victors by a 49-26 margin over Northern Cambria. Considering the Stingers have won four contests by more than 21 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Purchase Line better keep an eye on Camden Rising. He was instrumental in Marion Center's win, rushing for 114 yards and a pair of TDs on only 12 carries, while also throwing for 190 yards and three touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes. Rising continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Marion Center's leading receiver Alec Brudnock was Rising's top target yet again, picking up 110 receiving yards and two scores.

Marion Center was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 245 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Marion Center didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Brudnock.

Marion Center's record is now 7-0. As for Purchase Line, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-5.

Purchase Line took a serious blow against Marion Center when the teams last played back in October of 2024, falling 41-0. Can the Red Dragons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
