Mt. Diablo is 2-8 against Northgate since January of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Mt. Diablo Red Devils are taking a road trip to face off against the Northgate Broncos at 7:00 p.m. Mt. Diablo will be strutting in after a win while Northgate will be coming in after a defeat.
On Thursday, Mt. Diablo got the win against Concord by a conclusive 53-33. Given the Red Devils' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 224th, while the Bears are ranked 895th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, after a string of six wins, Northgate's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a 58-43 bruising from Clayton Valley Charter.
Mt. Diablo will have to keep a close watch on Maddison Sardelich and Samantha Myhr, a pair of players who had a big impact on Northgate's prior game.
