Soccer Game Preview: Coronado vs. Patrick Henry

The Coronado Islanders will head out to face off against the Patrick Henry Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Patrick Henry took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Coronado, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Coronado turned things around against La Jolla on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Vikings. The score was all tied up 1-1 at the break, but the Islanders were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 0-0 at halftime, Patrick Henry was not quite Cathedral Catholic's equal in the second half on Wednesday. They took a 6-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Dons. Even if the Patriots couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their offense, which had struggled int the games prior.

Coronado's victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-10-2. As for Patrick Henry, their loss dropped their record down to 9-8-2.

Coronado suffered a grim 5-1 defeat to Patrick Henry in their previous meeting two weeks ago. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Coronado was down 3-0.
