Basketball Game Preview: Ferndale Wildcats vs. Cloverdale Eagles

Ferndale is 0-4 against Cloverdale since December of 2014 but things could change on Saturday. Both will face off at 12:00 p.m. without much rest having both just played. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Ferndale saw some tournament action on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 47-30 win over Lower Lake. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 248th, while the Trojans are ranked 694th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Ferndale's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tinnley Pidgeon, who posted 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Michaela Ellsmore, who had 14 points.

Meanwhile, Cloverdale didn't have too much trouble with Oroville on Friday as they won 46-32.

Ferndale's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Cloverdale, their win bumped their record up to 4-7.

Ferndale came up short against Cloverdale in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 52-42. Can Ferndale avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
