Basketball Game Preview: San Clemente Tritons vs. Orange Lutheran Lancers

San Clemente hasn't had much luck against Orange Lutheran recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The San Clemente Tritons will face off against the Orange Lutheran Lancers at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in San Clemente's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last nine contests.

San Clemente took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They blew past Cathedral Catholic 55-30. The Tritons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Orange Lutheran sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 51-48 win over Faith Lutheran on Friday. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Lancers' disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 112th in California, while the Crusaders are ranked ninth in Nevada).

San Clemente pushed their record up to 12-5 with the win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.5 points per game. As for Orange Lutheran, their victory bumped their record up to 9-5.

San Clemente came up short against Orange Lutheran in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, falling 60-51. Can San Clemente avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
