Soccer Game Preview: Central City Value vs. Orthopaedic

The Central City Value Jaguars will challenge the Orthopaedic Vipers at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Central City Value is headed into Thursday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Animo Bunche. While losing is never fun, the Jaguars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 1108th, while the Stallions are ranked 471st).

Meanwhile, Orthopaedic managed to keep up with Aspire Ollin until halftime on Monday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Orthopaedic lost 5-0 to Aspire Ollin. The loss continues a trend for the Vipers in their matchups with the Jaguars: they've now lost five in a row.

Orthopaedic's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4-1. As for Central City Value, their loss dropped their record down to 1-10-1.

Central City Value skirted past Orthopaedic 2-1 in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Will Central City Value repeat their success, or does Orthopaedic have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
