Basketball Recap: Alameda Comes Up Short

After flying high against Encinal last Saturday, Alameda came back down to earth. The matchup between the Alameda Hornets and the Piedmont Highlanders didn't end well, with the Alameda Hornets falling 74-60. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 155th, while the Highlanders are ranked 38th).

Alameda's defeat dropped their record down to 15-10. As for Piedmont, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Alameda will host San Leandro at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Piedmont, they will be playing at home against Castro Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
