Preview: Peddie Falcons vs. Georgetown Day Mighty Hoppers
The Peddie Falcons will head out on the road to face off against the Georgetown Day Mighty Hoppers at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
Last Tuesday, Peddie was beaten by Life Center Academy 85-27. Peddie was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-14.
Meanwhile, Georgetown Day came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart by a score of 51-38. Given Georgetown Day's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked second in District of Columbia, while Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart is ranked 83rd in Maryland), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Georgetown Day found their leader in underclassman Nevaeh Roberson, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds. That's the first time this season that Roberson scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Madisyn Moore, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds.
Peddie bumped their record down to 1-1 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 23.7 points per game. As for Georgetown Day, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.
