Ladue Horton Watkins hasn't had much luck against Hazelwood West recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Rams will look to defend their home field against the Wildcats at 4:15 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Ladue Horton Watkins' pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Hazelwood Central with a sharp 15-0 victory. The Rams haven't had any issues with the Hawks recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Caroline Moore was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in October of 2024.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Colette Brennan, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and four RBI. Nylah Pierce was another key player, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.
Ladue Horton Watkins was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .562. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Hazelwood West made easy work of Maplewood-Richmond Heights on Monday and carried off a 15-0 victory.
Like Ladue Horton Watkins, Hazelwood West also got a great game from a two-way player: Taylor Lee. Throwing, Lee tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Allisan Cafolla pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. At the plate, Lee went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run, while Cafolla went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs.
In other batting news, Hazelwood West got a massive performance out of Mia Boschen, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Mariah Thomas, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Hazelwood West's win bumped their record up to 14-4. As for Ladue Horton Watkins, their victory bumped their record up to 9-7.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Ladue Horton Watkins hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .328. However, it's not like Hazelwood West struggles in that department as they've averaged .359. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
