Softball Recap: Anderson County Gets the Win

Anderson County's rock-solid pitcher showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Thursday. They never let the West Rebels get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. The Mavericks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matchups by eight runs or more this season.

Anderson County got a great performance from Addison Grooms as she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Grooms has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Bella Brummett was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Marlea Finstad was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Anderson County's win bumped their record up to 16-14. As for West, they dropped their record down to 16-12 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Coming up, Anderson County will face off against Gibbs at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. West does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
