Basketball Recap: North Bend Central Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

North Bend Central won the last time they faced Bancroft-Rosalie and things went their way on Monday too. The Tigers put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 53-32 victory. The win was nothing new for the Tigers as they're now sitting on three straight.

North Bend Central had a senior duo take command as Lauren Sterup shot 41% from the field en route to 21 points along with five assists and five rebounds and Reese Petersen dropped a double-double with 14 points and ten boards. Petersen also set a new season-high mark in shooting accuracy with 80%. McKrae Muller was another key player, putting up four points.

North Bend Central was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. They are 9-4 when they've passed the ball that well.

Bancroft-Rosalie lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Bailey Murphy, who posted nine points and six rebounds. She is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as she's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Jaylynn James, who scored ten points.

North Bend Central's victory bumped their record up to 11-9. As for Bancroft-Rosalie, they moved to 16-6 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, North Bend Central will take on Pender in a tournament on Thursday. The Tigers' defense better be ready for this one: the Pendragons have averaged an impressive 61.5 points per game this season. As for Bancroft-Rosalie, they will look to defend their home court on the 10th against Homer at 6:00 p.m.
