Basketball Recap: Connellsville Takes a Loss

Connellsville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were beaten by the Canon-McMillan Big Macs 59-22. The Falcons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Big Macs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2020.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Canon-McMillan to victory, but perhaps none more so than Faye Saunders, who went 5 of 7 on her way to 11 points and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Madison Clair, who went 5 for 8 en route to 14 points and three blocks.

Connellsville's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Canon-McMillan, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season.

Connellsville didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 63-23 loss against Upper St. Clair on the 15th. As for Canon-McMillan, they are taking a road trip to face off against Beaver at 7:30 p.m. on January 21st. Beaver will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something Canon-McMillan surely won't give up without a fight.
