Basketball Game Preview: Millikan Rams vs. United Christian Academy Eagles

The Millikan Rams will be taking part in a tournament against the United Christian Academy Eagles at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Millikan will be strutting in after a win while United Christian Academy will be coming in after a defeat.

Last Thursday, Millikan sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 43-41 victory over Woodrow Wilson. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rams.

Meanwhile, United Christian Academy fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Ramona Convent on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 47-44. The Eagles' loss signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

Millikan will have to contain Natalie Estrada as she made an impact in United Christian Academy's last game. She dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. Estrada's evening made it seven games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Morgan Kreps was another key player, putting up four points and eight rebounds.

Even though they lost, United Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in four consecutive matchups.

United Christian Academy suffered their first road defeat, dropping their record down to 9-3. As for Millikan, the win got them back to even at 6-6.
