Recap: Patrick Henry Patriots vs. Mira Mesa Marauders

The Patrick Henry Patriots lost against the Mira Mesa Marauders back in November of 2021, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Patrick Henry fell 50-39 to Mira Mesa.

Patrick Henry's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Ally Mangahis, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and three steals, and Cecelia Parker who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Parker has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last five times she's played. Maddox Weisskopf was another key contributor, scoring four points along with ten rebounds.

Ivorii Seals continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Mira Mesa, scoring 24 points along with seven steals and two blocks. That makes it nine consecutive games in which Seals has scored at least a third of Mira Mesa's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Otero, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and two steals.

Patrick Henry has not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season. As for Mira Mesa, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 12-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Patrick Henry will challenge Mater Dei Catholic at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Mater Dei Catholic presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Patrick Henry in California (Mater Dei Catholic is ranked 400th, while Patrick Henry is ranked 801st). Mira Mesa's road trip will continue as they head out to face San Diego at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th.
