Soccer Game Preview: Oak Park vs. Royal

The Oak Park Eagles will square off against the Royal Highlanders at 4:00 a.m. on Tuesday. Oak Park's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for ten straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Friday just wasn't the day for Oak Park's offense. They came up short against Simi Valley on Friday, falling 3-0. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 824th, while the Pioneers are ranked 232nd).

Meanwhile, Royal came up short against Camarillo on Tuesday and fell 3-1. The Highlanders have struggled against the Scorpions recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Royal's loss dropped their record down to 4-8-2. As for Oak Park, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-10.

Oak Park took their victory against Royal in their previous matchup back in January of 2024 by a conclusive 4-0. Will Oak Park repeat their success, or does Royal have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
