Preview: Arrowhead Christian Eagles vs. Linfield Christian Lions
Arrowhead Christian and Linfield Christian are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Arrowhead Christian Eagles on the road again on Monday and play against the Linfield Christian Lions at 6:00 p.m. on January 22nd. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Arrowhead Christian suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Friday. They were outmatched by Ontario Christian on the road and fell 96-23. While losing is never fun, Arrowhead Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 427th, while Ontario Christian is ranked tenth).
Despite the loss, Arrowhead Christian had strong showings from Kawino Rice, who scored nine points, and Sienna Batalo, who scored six points.
Meanwhile, Linfield Christian's recent rough patch got a bit rougher last Friday after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against Ontario Christian, falling 132-21. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Linfield Christian has scored all season.
Arrowhead Christian's loss dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Linfield Christian, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season.
Arrowhead Christian beat Linfield Christian 59-48 in their previous meeting on January 5th. The rematch might be a little tougher for Arrowhead Christian since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
