Basketball Game Preview: Design Tech Dragons vs. Sacred Heart Prep Gators

Having just played yesterday, the Design Tech Dragons will head out on the road to face off against the Sacred Heart Prep Gators at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Design Tech will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Design Tech is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They put the hurt on San Lorenzo Valley with a sharp 56-30 victory. The Dragons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 games by 21 points or more this season.

Design Tech's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jewel Wilson led the charge by going 8-for-19 en route to 20 points and eight boards. The dominant performance also gave Wilson a new career-high in three-point shooting accuracy (57%). Emerson 'Emi' LaPedis was another key player, putting up 15 points and six rebounds.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 80-42, which was the final score in Sacred Heart Prep's tilt against Priory on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Gators can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 305th, while the Panthers are ranked 20th).

Design Tech's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-6. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.5 points over those games. As for Sacred Heart Prep, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-14 record this season.
