After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Brookwood, Walnut Grove was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They never let the Eastside Eagles get on the board and left with a 6-0 victory. Considering the Warriors have won five contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Eastside's batters probably weren't too happy with Sam Martell, who pitched a no hitter and racked up ten Ks (he gave up zero walks). That's the fewest walks Martell has allowed since back in February.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jarrod Cook, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Gary Staffins, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-4.
Walnut Grove's win bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Eastside, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.
