Basketball Recap: Sierra Brooks and Jadyn Johnson Secure Win for Yosemite

Yosemite hadn't done well against Fowler recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Yosemite Badgers strolled past the Fowler Redcats with points to spare, taking the game 51-34. The Badgers didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this victory makes it their second in a row.

Yosemite was led to victory by Jadyn Johnson and Sierra Brooks. Johnson went 12 for 21 on her way to 26 points along with eight rebounds and five blocks, while Brooks posted five points and 11 boards. With that strong performance, Johnson is now averaging an impressive 2.1 blocks per game. Lora Hernandez was another key player, putting up two points and three steals.

Yosemite was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 3.2 assists per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matches they've averaged 7.3.

Yosemite's win bumped their record up to 7-13. As for Fowler, they dropped their record down to 1-15 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Yosemite has already played their next game, a 52-32 loss against Sierra on the 21st. As for Fowler, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 48-42 defeat against Fresno Christian on the 21st.
