Soccer Game Preview: South Gwinnett vs. Archer

The South Gwinnett Comets will take on the Archer Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Archer better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if last week is any indication, that's when South Gwinnett really gets things going. South Gwinnett never let Discovery get on the board and left with a 3-0 win on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Comets.

Shiloh Murphy and Rahjae Nelson scored all three of South Gwinnett's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 14 goals.

Meanwhile, Archer put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against Collins Hill. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked fourth, while the Eagles are ranked 51st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Archer's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-0. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 20 goals over those six games. As for South Gwinnett, their win bumped their record up to 4-6-1.
