Preview: Penn-Trafford Warriors vs. Oakland Catholic
Penn-Trafford is 0-8 against the since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Penn-Trafford Warriors will head out on the road to take on Oakland Catholic at 7:30 p.m. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Penn-Trafford sitting on six straight victories and the on 19.
Last Tuesday, Penn-Trafford beat the Spartans 58-50. Given Penn-Trafford's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 93rd, while the Spartans are ranked 252nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Olivia Pepple, who scored 29 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Lauren Marton, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 15 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Oakland Catholic can now show off 13 landslide victories after their most recent contest on Monday. They blew past Thomas Jefferson 62-38.
Penn-Trafford's win bumped their record up to 13-5. As for Oakland Catholic, their win was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-0.
Penn-Trafford lost to the on the road by a decisive 59-44 margin when the teams last played back in January. Can Penn-Trafford avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
