Basketball Recap: Chatsworth Beats Sylmar for Their Third Straight Victory

Chatsworth posted their closest win since December 12, 2024 on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged the Sylmar Spartans out 63-60. The victory was familiar territory for the Chancellors, who have now won three matches in a row.

Despite the loss, Sylmar had strong showings from Isabella Gonzalez, who posted 27 points, and Yaneli Zuniga-Hernandez, who put up 20 points. Gonzalez's evening made it six games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points.

Chatsworth's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-13. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.3 points over those games. As for Sylmar, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.

Chatsworth wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, an 81-50 defeat against Birmingham on the 14th. As for Sylmar, they have also already played their next matchup, a 51-42 loss against San Fernando on the 13th.
