Basketball Recap: Cosumnes Oaks Starts Season with Win at Home

Cosumnes Oaks took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 72-19 win over the Yuba City Honkers. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Wolfpack had established a 40-point advantage.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cosumnes Oaks to victory, but perhaps none more so than Caitlin Subejano, who almost dropped a triple-double with 25 points, nine assists, and nine steals. Subejano has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last ten times she's played. Another player making a difference was Sanai Hayter, who almost dropped a double-double with 17 points and nine boards.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Cosumnes Oaks was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in December of 2024.

Coming up, Cosumnes Oaks will be playing at home against West Park at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Yuba City, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Del Oro at 7:00 p.m. on December 2.
