Baseball Recap: Dublin Has No Trouble Against Jefferson County

Dublin won the last time they faced Jefferson County and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Dublin Fighting Irish were the clear victor by a 12-2 margin over the Jefferson County Warriors. Considering the Fighting Irish have won eight games by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Will Wallace and Morgan Davis were a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Wallace pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Davis tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). At bat, Wallace scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Davis scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, CJ Stubbs was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing Six bases. while going 1-for-3. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in stolen bases. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryland Yates, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Dublin was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Jefferson County only posted a batting average of .238.

Dublin is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. Jefferson County dropped their record down to 3-8 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Dublin will face off against Wilcox County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Wilcox County will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Dublin surely won't give up without a fight. As for Jefferson County, they will take on Glascock County at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
