Baseball Game Preview: North Murray Mountaineers vs. LaFayette Ramblers

North Murray hasn't had much luck against LaFayette recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Mountaineers will take on the Ramblers at 5:30 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

North Murray is headed into Monday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Friday. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe.

North Murray saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anthony Skojac, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, LaFayette fell victim to Adairsville and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers. The loss continues a trend for the Ramblers in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost nine in a row.

LaFayette's defeat dropped their record down to 12-14. As for North Murray, their loss dropped their record down to 4-20.

North Murray couldn't quite get it done against LaFayette in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as they fell 12-9. Can the Mountaineers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
