Basketball Recap: Oak Grove Eagles vs. Lincoln Lions
It was a good run, but the Oak Grove Eagles unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 48-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lincoln. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Oak Grove of the 55-51 defeat they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
When it comes to explaining why Oak Grove lost, one person who can't be blamed is Emilie Ngo. Despite the final result, she scored 25 points. That was a full 62.5% of Oak Grove's points, marking the 12th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Oak Grove's loss dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Lincoln, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Oak Grove will take on the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Prospect presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Eagles in California (the Panthers are ranked 225th, while the Eagles are ranked 516th). As for Lincoln, they will head out on the road to square off against the Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Silver Creek is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
