Softball Game Preview: Belton Pirates vs. Warrensburg Tigers

The Belton Pirates will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Warrensburg Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Warrensburg took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Belton, who comes in off a win.

Belton saw some tournament action back in September. They won by a run and slipped past Mid-Buchanan 2-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Pirates.

Meanwhile, Warrensburg lost 13-3 to Pleasant Hill on Tuesday. The Tigers have struggled against the Roosters/Chicks recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Reese Brown made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Belton now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Warrensburg, their loss dropped their record down to 1-11.

Belton took their victory against Warrensburg in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 11-1 score. Do the Pirates have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
