Hermantown hadn't done well against Bemidji recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Hawks had just enough and edged out the Lumberjacks 2-1. For the Hawks, this counts as revenge for the 5-3 win the Lumberjacks walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2025.

Drew Sonneson was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one home run. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.

Hermantown has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Bemidji, they moved to 11-6 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Coming up, Hermantown will host Proctor at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Bemidji does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
