Softball Recap: Chattahoochee Cougars vs. Johns Creek Gladiators
Chattahoochee extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 17 on Tuesday, dropping them down to 0-15. They came up short against the Johns Creek Gladiators, falling 17-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Gladiators this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 18-3 on September 4th.
Camden Maye made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 1-for-1 with three stolen bases and two runs.
As for Johns Creek, their record is now 10-15. With that victory, they brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.
On Johns Creek's side, Swara Khatri looked comfortable as she tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Khatri has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Johns Creek got a massive performance out of Reese Stiltner, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI Stiltner has posted since back in August. Another player making a difference was Allie Lafon, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chattahoochee will host Lanier at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Johns Creek, they will welcome Bethlehem Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Gladiators' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Knights have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season.
