Softball Recap: Lincoln Northwest Takes a Loss

Lincoln Northwest had lost five straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped down to 2-21 to make it six. They lost 9-1 to the Bellevue West Thunderbirds. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Falcons of the 16-6 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Lincoln Northwest saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alexa Dankert, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

As for Bellevue West, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-19 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games.

On Bellevue West's side, the team relied heavily on Aubrey Busch, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Busch has posted since back in September of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jaycee Woodard, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lincoln Northwest will head out to face off against Elkhorn at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bellevue West, they will venture away from home to square off against Bryan at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
