Softball Game Preview: Pleasantville Trojans vs. Exira-EHK Spartans

The Pleasantville Trojans will square off against the Exira-EHK Spartans on Wednesday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Pleasantville sitting on four straight wins and Exira-EHK on five.

Pleasantville proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by seven) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a run and slipped past North Mahaska 5-4.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Exira-EHK). They blew past Coon Rapids-Bayard 16-3 on Wednesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Pleasantville pushed their record up to 17-8 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Exira-EHK, their win bumped their record up to 14-11.
