Baseball Game Preview: Civic Memorial Eagles vs. Gibault Catholic Hawks

The Civic Memorial Eagles will square off against the Gibault Catholic Hawks at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

On Wednesday, Civic Memorial came up short against Jersey and fell 10-7.

Jacob Flowers made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Gibault Catholic's offense. They came up short against Belleville East on Wednesday, falling 7-0. The Hawks' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Civic Memorial's defeat dropped their record down to 13-9. As for Gibault Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 12-10.

Civic Memorial came out on top in a nail-biter against Gibault Catholic when the teams last played back in May of 2025, sneaking past 3-2. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Hawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
