Softball Recap: Irwin County Takes a Loss

Irwin County and Taylor County squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Irwin County had to settle for second. They came up short against the Vikings, falling 6-0. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Indians were not able to get on the board.

This is the second loss in a row for Irwin County and nudges their season record down to 26-4. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 27-4 Emanuel County Institute (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 87.3% over those games). As for Taylor County, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 28-4.

Irwin County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Taylor County, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 12-4 loss against Emanuel County Institute on the 1st.
