Football Recap: St. Benedict at Auburndale Falls Despite Big Games from Donovan Hazelwood and Reign Richey

St. Benedict at Auburndale lost against Northpoint Christian back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Eagles took a 31-18 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Trojans. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Reign Richey and Donovan Hazelwood certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Richey threw for 89 yards and three TDs, while Hazelwood picked up 64 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Northpoint Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Justin Henderson out in front who rushed for 97 yards and two touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Palmer King, who rushed for 53 yards and one TD.

St. Benedict at Auburndale's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Northpoint Christian, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-2.

Coincidentally, St. Benedict at Auburndale and Northpoint Christian will both be playing St. George's the next time they take the field. The Trojans will head out to face the Gryphons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Eagles will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on the 10th.
