Softball Recap: Bloomingdale Comes Up Short

The Bloomingdale Bulls came up short against the Montverde Academy Eagles on Thursday and fell 6-1. The Bulls have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Natalie Cable put in work while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over six innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one home run.

Bloomingdale's defeat dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Montverde Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-2 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bloomingdale will welcome Sumner at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bulls' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Stingrays have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season. As for Montverde Academy, they will be playing at home against Lake Mary at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Rams have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.7 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of.
