Basketball Recap: Big Valley Christian Takes a Loss

Big Valley Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They took a 34-19 bruising from the Linden Lions. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Linden this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 36-30 back in January.

Despite the loss, Big Valley Christian still got an impressive performance from Kailey Rivera, who posted six points and 20 boards. Rivera is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last four games she's played. Paige Handley also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Even though they lost, Big Valley Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive rebound total in three consecutive matches.

Big Valley Christian's loss dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Linden, their win ended an 11-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-10.

Big Valley Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 67-17 defeat against Calaveras on the 4th. As for Linden, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 68-17 loss against Bret Harte on the 4th.
