Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Wilber-Clatonia). They walked away with a 17-12 win over the Fairbury Jeffs on Thursday. The victory was nothing new for the Wolverines as they're now sitting on five straight.
Gabby Vlcan made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She pitched 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. Vlcan was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kariss Rosenthal, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. Those five hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Peyton Mischnick, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run.
Wilber-Clatonia kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
