Mid-Buchanan is 8-2 against North Platte since September of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Dragons will host the Panthers at 5:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Mid-Buchanan has four straight wins, North Platte has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Mid-Buchanan's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over Lathrop. The Dragons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by six runs or more this season.
Dru Pearson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, she posted two strikeouts, the most she's had since back in October of 2024. She was even better at the plate, firing off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Danika Black was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in October of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Christie, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Mid-Buchanan was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .318 or higher in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, North Platte didn't have quite enough to beat South Harrison on Monday and fell 3-1. That's two games in a row now that the Panthers have lost by exactly two runs.
North Platte saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Francis Kossen, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.
Mid-Buchanan's victory bumped their record up to 13-6. As for North Platte, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.
Mid-Buchanan was able to grind out a solid win over North Platte when the teams last played back in October of 2024, winning 4-1. Do the Dragons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
