Soccer Game Preview: Pella vs. Newton

The Pella Dutch will head out on the road to square off against the Newton Cardinals at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Pella is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Saturday. They lost 6-0 to Bishop Heelan Catholic. While losing is never fun, Pella can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa soccer rankings (they are ranked 95th, while Bishop Heelan Catholic are ranked 14th).

Meanwhile, Newton kept a clean sheet against Clarke on Thursday. They won by a goal and slipped past the Indians 1-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for Newton.

Pella now has a losing record of 6-7-4. As for Newton, the win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 7-8-5.
